Thailand is the second world’s largest economy of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is the major trade partner and destiny of Chilean exportations to the block, in which the supply of fruits stands out (fresh, frozen, dehydrated, and nuts), sea products (salmon, mussels, cod) and wine.
Food is the one that counts with the biggest potential of growth, especially healthy ones, consumed by medium-high and high income persons.
The importers are rigorous about the quality of the product, and generally, they also distribute to HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants and Catering), supermarkets and convenience stores.
The Free Trade Agreement between Chile and Thailand has been valid since November 5 of 2015, and it gave immediate preferential access to more than 90% of the products.
