The commercial representation of Washington D.C. has in charge the states of Virginia, Maryland, and the Columbia District. Its main business opportunities are centred in projects of international development due to the presence of global financial institutes, such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, among others. Likewise, opportunities in hospitality and tourism sectors stand out, which is expected to register a substantial increase in business in HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants and Catering) sectors after the pandemic. It also highlights the possibilities in technology, thanks to incentives aimed specifically at sectors like DC Tech Incentives and research hubs.
In this jurisdiction is also relevant the research, education, and medicine opportunities due to the presence of important universities, such as Georgetown, George Mason, George Washington, Howard University and Johns Hopkins; and it can also promote projects with NGOs, associations, and federal agencies thanks to its proximity with agencies and ministries of the government of the United States.
