Music, audiovisuals, video games, graphic narrative, board games, and visual and performing arts will be featured in the Chilean pavilion's cultural program, with a strong regional presence and interactive experiences for the Japanese public.
The Chilean pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 will be transformed into a space that showcases the country's cultural and creative wealth during Creative Industries Week, which will feature a program combining exhibitions, workshops, and live performances.
From September 27 to October 3, the national delegation will be in Japan with representatives from Chilean trade associations, artists, and companies from sectors such as music, audiovisual, video games, graphic narrative and board games, and visual and performing arts.
Among them are VG Chile, Ludichile , Francisco Inostroza of the Chilean Graphic Narrative Cooperative, Gabriel Osorio, the director of “Historia de un Oso” and the OANI company, with the Lambe Lambe theater , together with the Teatro a Mil Foundation.
In addition, there will be a regional focus, with delegations from Valparaíso, Los Ríos and Aysén, composed of Valparaíso Contemporary Art (VAC), the Valparaíso Immersive Technologies Trade Association (XR Valpo ), the Valparaíso Video Game Developers Trade Association ( GDValparaíso ) and the Valparaíso Music Industry (IMUVA); the Austral Theater of Aysén; video game music composer Patrick Moore, Valdivia Creative Territory, the Valdivia Film Promotion Center (CPCV) and the Los Ríos Regional Government.
“This thematic week seeks to promote Chile as an exporter not only of important goods such as wine, salmon, and other products to Japan, but also of creative services such as audiovisual, publishing, and music. We want to encourage more people to understand that, from the ends of the earth, there are talents that can resonate with global audiences,” says Paulina Nazal , Chile's Commissioner General for Expo Osaka 2025.
In 2024, Chilean exports of services related to the creative industry totaled US$98 million, with the animation, audiovisual, publishing, and video game subsectors standing out, according to data from ProChile based on the National Customs Service.
Themed areas, workshops and musical shows
This week, the Chilean pavilion will be equipped with themed areas that will allow visitors to explore Chilean creativity through various experiences.
Among the scheduled activities are Chilean board game workshops organized by LudiChile together with Fractal Juegos and the production of the animated short "Historia de un Oso" and talks about video game soundtracks from Chile, discussions on the state of the video game industry in Chile and Japan and the launch of the Kickstarter of the video game "Bruma" in Japan by the company 4HA Games .
Outside the pavilion, during the week, there will be cartoonist Abel Elizondo, an exhibition of Human Statues from Teatro Austral de Aysén, a meet and greet with Christell and the presentation of Oani Teatro with miniature theater Lambe Lambe .
Additionally, “El Mundo de Christell ” and the jazz group “Antonio Monasterio Ensemble” will perform on the pop-up stage at the Osaka Expo site on September 27 and 28.
