The Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation launches a powerful initiative to inspire young minds through the stories of Chilean women in STEM.
STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—is more than an acronym; it represents a dynamic space where innovation, problem solving, and critical thinking converge. To highlight the role of Chilean women in these fields, the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation, with support from the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality, has developed INSPIRADORAS, a collection of four downloadable booklets.
Each booklet features stories of women grouped by the letters of STEM, showcasing their contributions and journeys in these disciplines. The initiative aims to spark curiosity and broaden perspectives among children and adolescents, encouraging them to explore their own potential in science and technology.
As part of Chile’s participation in Expo Osaka 2025, INSPIRADORAS will be featured during the thematic week “Chile: A Country of Women.” Visitors to the Chile Pavilion will receive a Japanese-language edition of the INSPIRADORAS booklet, along with a specially designed bookmark inspired by the project. These materials serve as institutional gifts and educational tools to promote Chile’s commitment to gender equity and scientific outreach on a global stage.
INSPIRADORAS reflects Chile’s broader commitment to inclusive innovation and gender equality, and is funded through the Gender Mainstreaming program.
