As a result of the pandemic, foreign trade has seen changes to its normal forms of operations, which has opened up a space for e-commerce, that has quickly picked up ground as an important way to conduct international trade. Chile has taken the initiative in the regard through offering its wide range of products on different e-commerce platforms.
A new development in Chile’s ecommerce efforts include the qualification and enhancement of the Marketplace of the Chilean Export Promotion Agency, ChileB2B, which allows for importers around the world to be able to search and contact Chilean exporters of a wide variety of sectors with the simple click of a button. To date, there are more than 1,100 exporters of goods and services that are currently on the platform, which also serves as a secure negotiation environment.
In addition, the virtual business roundtable sessions organized by ProChile have made it possible to specify or project businesses for over US$18 million, benefiting more than 350 importing and exporting companies.
