Miami, Florida, April 2019.- Chile will officially participate for the first time in eMerge Americas, one of the most important technology and innovation events that connects Latin America with the rest of the world. The event will take place Monday and Tuesday at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
The South American country will present a sample of its latest tech advancements, in a stand organized by ProChile, the Chilean Government Trade Promotion Bureau, which considers Miami as one of the key ecosystems in the world for the international development of their startups.
“Chile is the country with the largest number of entrepreneurs in the OECD, and the Latin American leader in worldwide prestige rankings, including the Global Innovation Index. In large part, due to public policies that allow, for example, the creation of a company in one day, online, and with zero cost; the attraction of worldwide talent, and the facilitation for global scaling. In this context, we have promoted the participation of a select group of our startups in this high impact trade show”, highlighted German Rocca, Trade Commissioner of ProChile in Miami.
In Chile’s stand at eMerge Americas, Booth 1031, Chattigo, IBSS Consulting, ResidentApp, Topclass, and SOSAFE, will be showcasing their different applications that include, improving the quality of responses to clients; ensuring financial balancing; analyzing and understanding citizen usage of local government benefits; facilitating online learning; and connecting emergency services, authorities and neighbors in efforts to build smarter and safer cities.
All of these companies, will additionally, participate in the “Startup Showcase”, in which they will compete with a hundred other entrepreneurs in front of Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors. In this competition, three additional Chilean startups will also be competing: Andes Volt, Yu Track, and Dentidesk, which were selected by The Idea Center at Miami Dade College, and Parallel 18, an accelerator based in Puerto Rico.
ASEMIA JOINS ASELA
Chile will also be a protagonist at the inaugural session of the sixth edition of eMerge Americas, which will take place on Monday, April 29, at 8:30 AM. This session will be led by the Chile’s Minister of Economy, José Ramón Valente, along with the Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Carlos Gimenez, and the CEO of Cyxtera Technologies & Founder of eMerge Americas, Manuel D. Medina.
Additionally, the newly minted Association of Entrepreneurs from Miami, ASEMIA, will be officially launched, created based on the experience of the Association of Entrepreneurs from Chile, ASECH, and will officially be incorporated as part of the Association of Entrepreneurs from Latin America (ASELA), led by Juan Pablo Swett, from Chile, which has a membership of more than 60 thousand entrepreneurs from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Peru.
