ChileMilk was born out of a project undertaken by PTI LECHERO del Sur in the period 2019-2021 (CORFO Integrated Territory Program, Los Lagos), which included the participation of the following trade associations: Asociación Gremial de Productores de Leche de Osorno (APROLECHE A.G.), the Asociación Gremial de Centros de Acopio y Productores de Leche de la Zona Sur, Los Lagos y Los Ríos (ACOLECHE A.G.) and the Asociación Gremial de Empresarios Agrícola de la Provincia de Llanquihue (AGROLLANQUIHUE A.G.). From 2019 to 2020, the associations carried out a range of activities as part of the program in order to develop the dairy sector, one of which was the creation of a brand that integrated and represented the Chilean dairy industry.
In 2020, PTI LECHERO del Sur submitted a request to ProChile to become part of the Sectoral Brands group. The request was approved by the Sectoral Brands Advisory Board, which resulted in ChileMilk being registered before the National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI), as a collective trademark in the name of the Federación Nacional de Productores de Leche (FEDELECHE). The brand represents the private sector with the support of national export companies Colun, Chilolac and Valle Verde, alongside ProChile.
